This year we have obtained Lake Nona’s ADA #4 position in two Top Ten categories; the Corporate Top Team and Orlando’s ADA Overall Top Team. Woo hooo! We have movers and shakers on this team because we have competed with teams who have company matching gifts and still ranked #4.

SAIC Personnel Abroad
We received donations from the forward-deployed SAIC family supporting 2BSTB, Blackjack Brigade, 1st CAV in Afghanistan. We all were thinking how can we honor them and thought of the usual suspects, yellow ribbon, blue bandanas, flag pins etc. Someone thought of passing it forward … in their honor on the day of the event, we all dawned bracelets which said “Challenge Yourself.”
The “Challenge Yourself” Bracelets are part of a “FUN” raising effort put forth by the Oviedo Challenger Baseball League. The league consists of Special Needs children of Central Florida (Oviedo vicinity).
This year they were not able to obtain a sponsor for their annual event at Clearwater, FL. This event is a collection of other Special Needs Teams throughout the State of Florida. The funding is necessary for the room/boarding of the “buddies” who volunteer their time to help out, and for other costs necessarily to keep the game operational (use of the fields, etc.).
Honorable Mention
SAIC Cycling Jersey Winners
There are team members that go that extra mile in the pinch; we have had several members throughout this fund raising cycle. The two standouts during a given period and criteria are Chet Laird and Kenesha Osbourne.
Chet achieved the largest average donation per donor taking into consideration all who donated to our team members within the given time limit.
Kenesha recruited three new teamSAIC members which have assisted us in surpassing our goals three times.
In our appreciation the team has awarded Chet and Kenesha the official SAIC bicycle jersey to wear and always remember what they have accomplished for the cause.
Last Hour Push for Champion and the ADA History Books
A very big thank you to those special friends who propelled Kenesha from Tour de Cure Jersey ($565) to join the other Champions ($1,027) at the last hour.
We know some of you have donated more than once to help her in reaching the $1,000 personal goal in donations and unknowingly assisted the team to achieve historical status with ADA Orlando. Take a bow, job well done!!!
Fun-raising Activities Winners
The Kindle purchase was made possible solely with team member donations.
