On Thursday, December 3, 2015, TeamOne attended the “Style Your Pumps” fashion show to meet ADA supporters at Jaguar of Orlando and presented by Tandem Diabetes Care.
This was an evening of empowerment! The American Diabetes Association, Inc. in partnership with Shel Marks PR & Events, LLC., has created a show concept where women and girls living with diabetes are empowered to style, accessorize and show off their pumps provided by fashion sponsor, Bloomingdale’s.
The event was emceed by Miss Idaho 2014 and Tandem Diabetes spokes person, Sierra Sandison. Jisel Parra (Miss Orange County USA – 2012) co-hosted the event to empower women, especially young women/children, to wear their pump proudly and not be embarrassed or ashamed of their diabetes. It also served to inform women that they are not alone in this fight against diabetes.
The evening was a success with the attending donors, patrons and friends. It was a nice night to sit down, relax, and have stimulating conversation over food and drink. Isn’t that what family does?
A portion of the ticket sales were given to the American Diabetes Association of Orlando.
