It is January 1, 2023, here I sit at Starbucks as every other year before … feeling lucky to see another year while reflecting on all that I have accomplished. In 2022 I originally wanted to ride 3,500 miles and completed 908 miles, participated in 2 charity events, over 16 hours of camaraderie with teammates, and approximately 34 hours of solo rides with 7.5 months left in the year! Whump, Whump, very happy with my progress!!!
At this point, I contracted a very vicious dose of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), after getting over the initial assault of the virus I had lingering aftereffects labeled as “Long COVID-19” which made me rethink my goals. Getting 100% healthy while building my lungs up to full respiratory capacity was my only goal for the rest of the year. Life sometimes doesn’t work in your favor however I’m happy that I am still among the living to ride once more!
Statistics
Since 2014 the bike I ride is called “The Beast”, it is a Trek Domane 6.9, Bontrager Team edition (Specs). Prior to my Domane, I rode a bike I called “Ninja” a 2007 Specialized, Transition Elite TT (Specs).
