Meeting Comes to a Close |
The Ride
Unlike last year, the day started 2 degrees warmer at 74 degrees which quickly crept up to 82 degrees within the hour. Since this is Orlando the humidity level was about 96%. It was a good easy ride with the ability to chat while riding together and this was the first time I lead an entire ride. I have always been the one to assist in the pulling position but today I was that guy. A big thank you goes out to Henry, Flipper, and Desmond for your support and assistance.
One of the many highlights of the day was once the ride was over the volunteers and staff handed out Tour de Cure cool damp towels to freshen up prior to breakfast.
Presenters
One speaker after the other was providing their personal experience as to why they support the American Diabetes Association in Orlando. Each of these speakers commanded attention in their commentary and were very personable with their lighthearted comedic statements sprinkled throughout their conversation with the audience.
After the Keynote speakers finished their personal commentary and the meeting was over, I think all in attendance were reinvigorated to go out and do all they can to assist in this cause.
