A friend of mine always says “Teamwork makes the Dream work!”  The support of friends, family, and donors help all of us in this fight against diabetes and the dream to find a cure.

Thank you all! 2019 Tour de Cure Lake Nona could not have been better! You did an amazing job helping me raise over $1,000 for the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Our overall success is due to the collective efforts in which we raised over $21,182. TeamOne 2019 had an impressive group of 17 Champions.  We are 4 years running as a “Team of Champions”.

On Sunday, March 31st, I participated in the American Diabetes Association Lake Nona Tour de Cure ride.  I tackled the 50 miles again this year – five years of 50 miles. Now I am a five-year veteran!

Two years ago the day was hot and windy. Last year: mild and windy. This year: gorgeous (and windy)! Two years: 4 am wake up. Last year: 4 am wake up. This year: 5am wake up (wow…sleeping in!).  Two years ago: no coffee to kick off the day. Last year: no coffee to kick off the day. This year: I did grab a quick 1/4 cup of coffee…not quite enough to satisfy the palate. Note to self – work on that for next time!

TeamOne members have a great passion for this cause. Our members come from all over to ride together on this one day. Everyone’s support and generosity in donations (which makes them a part of TeamOne) make this ride so much better.

I am so honored to ride on behalf of:

  • Bertha Styles (Charmaine’s Nana), Keith Buchanan (Charmaine’s Brother), Cathy’s Dad, Charles Lancaster, Sam B., Taylor, Mr. A, Xavier Gomez
  • In loving memory of Charles’ parents

Many thanks for your support. It has made fundraising, training, and riding easier. In addition, you earned some brownie points with me!
