What a Ride! “Pulling for Chris”
What a day!! Today we rode in a special event. Some of TeamOne members joining some of the bicycle community in a ride of 76+ miles. It was to support a young man,
Chris Liddy, who suffered an unfortunate accident.
Chris Liddy is a local cyclist who was involved in a serious, work-related traffic accident that has left him with a severe brain injury. The Orlando Sentinel Story:

The day: The temperature was in the low 70’s. It stayed slightly overcast and was great for biking. After a hot, humid summer, today’s weather was perfect and most welcome.
The ride: The ride traced Chris’ round trip commute of 76+ miles. There were around 150 riders. As we rode the first 10 miles, I was thinking of how difficult this must have been for him. We were on the road, with cars, and on a Sunday. Traffic was minimal because it was early. I could only imagine how it must have been for him to ride this every day when there was traffic.
Further down, we entered a more rural area. While it was beautiful, green, and scenic, I thought also about how there was no bike lane; there was little traffic on Sunday morning, but what a desolate ride. I was lucky… here I was riding in a pack of fellow cyclists. How brave Chris was to ride this way by himself. I was humbled.
We finished strong. 76 miles is pretty far if you ask me. He did this regularly. It touched my heart to be able to do a little thing like riding and support with a donation for a man and his family that need help. Chris’s wife was there at the beginning of the ride and at the end … She is a courageous and strong woman, and I know that today even if I did something very small, it was something that made a difference.
Ride Along With Us
This was a trifecta type day: A great day to ride, good group of riders, and an awesome cause. This is not just something we do for the day and forget, this should be an ongoing effort until our fellow cyclist and family are out of the woods. We should take care of our own!
